A Little Bit Laura.
I grew up thinking I'd always be
the Sally Rogers
the woman among men
commiserating in the writer's room
cajoling over drinks after hours
staying outspoken and independent
But as I got a little older
I found myself to be
a bit more Sally Albright
hyper analyzing everything
remembering the details
and caring a lot more than I'd like to admit
And now as I sit here—
with you—
maybe I realize that while
the rest of the world sees me as
one of the Sallies
you help me to see that I'm also
a little bit Laura
And there's no shame in it,
not really.
It's just a bit of a surprise, is all.
And hey—
Watch out for that ottoman, would ya?
